Brecht Vertongen 

Atelier Vertongen by Brecht Vertongen (°1999) is a furniture designer and maker, with his atelier located in Aalst (BE). His expertise lies in creating wooden furniture. He also practices ceramics as an additional artistic pursuit.

His designs stem from a great fascination with traditional wood connections, with his own adjustments. Not only are his designs pieces of furniture, but they are also sculptures in the room.

Every design is a result of almost intuitive thinking. 
Brecht’s architectural background has a major influence on the way in which the furniture is arranged and constructed.

A notable characteristic of Vertongen's work is his strong affinity for the color blue. The color holds special significance in his artistic practice, symbolizing trust and loyalty towards his craftsmanship. This dedication to his work and the use of the color blue as a guiding principle may serve as a signature aspect of his creations.
